Yes, but, those are 15 million real sales. So you have about 17% households buying new cars, assuming 1 per.

The 27% number is the result of a survey. How many of those will actually go on to buy a PC? Unclear.

I had an econometrics professor back in college that was real down on surveys. It's stayed with me.

Nevertheless, we're in agreement about PC growth. I'm just exercising caution with respect to numbers published by wipers like BusinessWeak.

Dont forget TVs and VCRs cost a lot less than PCs. I don't like comparing PCs to them -- I think PCs are more like cars.
