Not the first good term I've invented. One of my favorites I invented at INCY running the construction projects. Normally the process is called Design-Build (as opposed to the classic Bid-Spec Building Process) but at INCY I ended up renaming it Build-Design, as we did it so fast-track that we had to build it before we finished designing it, before we had budgets, before we had contracts with the builders, etc... Plus, at INCY, they changed the design requirements they needed constantly throughout the process anyway to accomodate the changing science, corporate needs and their attention spans to examine the details while they are preoccupied changing the world. While you throw a little bit more money at parts of it by having to build in flexibility, especially early in the process, and you end up ripping out a few things you just put in, at INCY the only thing that was constant was change and not getting it done fast enough. I started the project by informing the team (and frequently reminding them) that "everything you know is wrong". The cost savings were in shaving time off of the completion date and allowing INCY to ramp up faster, which doesn't fit conveniently in a bean counters spreadsheet, but results in a real savings by allowing opportunity exploitation. Try to get a bean counter to put a number on that and they go into an infinite loop (aka. A "DO LOOP").

Thanks for the analyst update.

Later,

Rman
