Kenneye - Re: "So Paul's 95% yield is a real joke."

The yields as I stated were 70% or greater. I know I stated this yesterday and perhaps that is too long ago for you to remember.

The speed distribution was 95% greater than 350 MHz., also stated yesterday.

You nay find this as a big joke.

If so, enjoy the laugh.

Then enjoy the laugh as AMD drops the prices on their speedy 233 MHz parts.

Paul

On Intel P2 speed distribution

From reading numerous posts on overclocking, it appears that a majority (but I would sincerely doubt > 75%, based on reports of failure I've seen) of the CPU's being sold as 333's can be overclocked to 410MHz. However, HARDLY ANY of them will operate above that. As Yousef said, that will require a re-layout. And may or may not be successful. Intel can't sell them as 350's or 400's until the BX chipset is ready AND PC100 SDRAM is readily available.

No matter how many may operate at 350 or 400, Intel won't be able to sell more than 25% of their CPU's for more than $300, IMO.
