Not a great day today with CPQ off 2.36% but there is one interesting thing. Dell, who almost always performs better than CPQ, is off by much more - 3.57%.

Robbie... another thread states that DEC and CPQ will report on the same day, 4/16. I guess they wanna give us all the bad earnings news at once. Maybe that will be the day that they outline their plans for streamlining/restructuring of DEC. stephen

One more thing, Robbie...This is not specific to CPQ, but all over SI I see folks saying things like "it's tough to be in technology right now but just hang in there and it'll be back soon"..."I'm on the verge of a margin call, should I sell my Intel??", stuff like this....

If I didn't know better, I'd think we were in the teeth of a long bear market by reading a lot of these boards. The fact is, we are in the teeth of the longest BULL market in history, the Dow keeps setting record highs day after day, as does the S&P...The NASDAQ was off slightly today, but set a record high yesterday. This is a RAGING BULL MARKET, folks !!!!

I agree some individual stocks (like CPQ) have been whacked big-time and are closer to bottom than top, but I just think some folks could be in for a big shock if we really get a DOWN MARKET....most folks just assume it is their God-given right for their stocks to eventually go UP over time....yes, for good companies (CPQ is one), stocks do eventually go UP over time, but even the best companies/stocks sometimes go flat or down for years at a time.

When I see posts like "it'll get better soon..hang in there", I just wonder how long these folks have been investing...THIS IS BETTER !!!!
IT CAN'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even CPQ is much higher than it was a year ago today.

Mark.

Robbie...less than 10 minutes into Wall Street Week and a guest has recommended CPQ as a buy at this level, saying that it's down from 39 to 23, that it is/has a great franchise and that it has a great future. Ya gotta like that! Marty Zweig(sp.?)is guest host tonite. Check it out on the re-run. stephen

Hi Robbie. We will be vindicated. I saw two analysts recommending cpq last night so the tide will surely turn soon regardless of the blather we hear on the thread from the shorts. The dec deal will be a winner and we already know who will produce the most boxes. Even with the smaller margins cpq will be enjoying, volume will be the name of the game going forward. Dell had better get in on the sub 0 computers because that it where this industry is heading if not already there.
