Chris-
This is the poart that I have so much trouble understanding.
I am presumed evil and sentenced to eteranl damntion before I have even actually sinned. Please dont tell me about Adam and Eve and the Serpent. I did not eat the apple, and even if one takes the bible literally(which I dont), that wa so far bfore me, that I reject that anything that happened should reflect upon me.

I have trouble believeing that God, in his magnificent compassionate wisdom, cold condemn anyone to eteranl damnation and insufferable pain for not recognizing his name and calling him by another. doesn't that strike you as petty and a horrible abuse of power?

Take this example. A young man in India who is born into a Hindu
family, spends his entire lifetime doing good deeds and charitable acts.
He spends his free time praying fervently and earnestly to the god that he was taught was the one and only true god. The only God that he has been made aware of for all practical purposes. He dies having lead a truly pious life, and left a legacy as a good family man who has done great kind and compasssionate works. His life was spent with nothing but good intentions.
Can you truly tell me that it is fair for this man to spend eternity in hell, suffering unimaginable pain both physical and mental. Because he was never truly made aware of Jesus? Could god have tht much of an ego? It doesnt make any sense to me.

Mark

Well Chris I know this will start another fight but what the hell. I do not believe hell exists. At least not the hell of eternal torture that is so often used to frighten little children. The hell of eternal tortures is largely an invention of the church during the dark and middle ages. It was a tool in their efforts to combat pagan religions and 'encourage' stricter adherence to church doctrine. It was a tool to manipulate people. I believe Satan's punishment was to be removed from the presence of God and denied for eternity the light of God's love. If there is a hell awaiting sinners it is being denied God's presence.
