Jim, That will never happen, because the career politicians(mostly lawyers) are in control, not the people. Judging by the turnouts at the polls, many have given up. ER

Lawyers as a whole are no more self serving than any other group of people. That is a sweeping generalization which is unjustified and unfair to a lot of lawyers like myself. Its like saying that all Italians are winos. What we need to do is be very much more selective about the people we hire for elective office. And we need to judge politicians on a case by case basis just as we judge other people. There are good and bad. It just so happens that the bar is set very low at present. Whose fault is that? JLA

The banning of lawyers from public positions would do more to right the republic than the reincarnation of Lincoln and Washington. They write the laws then turn around and interpret the damn things. Yikes!!
