Brian - re: "AMD's Share of Feb PC unit sales was 32.8% down slightly from January"

Could this be a trend?

Could this be why "substantial Losses" may be reported shortly?

Maybe AMD can reduce their ASPs and get back some of that business?

Maybe CyberMAX will help AMD sell more chips in the upcoming months!

Brian - re: "All that is missing now is some higher ASP parts for niche markets such as Notebook and 3D games and AMD will be very profitable ,"

Just how profitable will they be?

Perhaps AMD could raise the ASP of the 266 MHz K6 to $999 - that would solve the problem - wouldn't it?

Selling a million or two of these would be good for a billion or two in revenue and would be great for the profits as well!

Paul

Brian, re:K6 outsells PII for the 2nd straight month !!

With PII systems appearing in sub $1000 systems in 2Q,
Celeron ($800) and PII-233 ($1000), this trend will change, and K6 will be the BIG loser...expect more big losses for AMD for the foreseeable future. If AMD rakes up big losses when K6 outsells PII, what will happen when PII systems become the low-end?????
