Mr. Barrett, that statement about $50.00 per hour is patently ridiculous. You'd scream bloody murder if anyone tried to arbitrarily set the price of whatever it is you sell. I happen to sell my time. it is a limited commodity. The price is set by what the market will bear and my expenses.(for instance, no way could I charge $700.00 to do a refinance where I practice). Whatever is left over after I pay my taxes, insurance, payroll, FICA, FUTA, rent, etc. is for me. Some years that is good, some not so good. Its no different from any other business. It sounds to me like you need help finding a good lawyer and negotiating a better fee agreement. JLA
