Jack, how about John Kasich or Colin Powell? I see them as people with character who have a good image with the press. I also think it would be perfect to elect the first African American President in the year 2000.
Too bad though he keeps saying he won't run. Colin Powell would be a shoe in after the circus we have been witness to the last 5 years.

At least people would know the General wouldn't turn the White House into his own personal bordello.

Jack, I voted for a third party candidate twice. I found it very similar to pissing against the wind. My feet got wet and Bill's weenie got wetter.

<<It doesn't matter what Newt tried to do. He has the same problem Nixon did -- not telegenic. There's something about his appearance that people don't like. It's the old "would you buy a used car from this man?" stuff the media used against Tricky Dick. Clinton,on the other hand, has the media-generated image that people have been conditioned (as in Pavlovian) to like and trust. Shakespeare knew about this false appearance: That one may smile, and smile, and be a villain.(Hamlet)>>

Wow, you paint a sad picture of the American voter who goes for a media generated image over some one who is plainer looking but doing what the people want. What's sadder yet is that you are right. Style over substance.
