E4(cube customer) and Apple.............................

macworld.zdnet.com

DVD, the high-capacity successor to the compact disc, is suddenly hot. Consumer DVD players are filling electronics stores, and more than 300 DVD movie titles are now available. They're fast becoming standard equipment on PCs. And now Apple has added support for DVD's Universal Disk Format in Mac OS 8.1. ...

...E4 Debuts

The first Macs with built-in DVD drives are scheduled to appear by mid-1998; Apple originally had planned to offer DVD by the end of last year. For now, your only choice is CoolDVD, a $499 Mac DVD upgrade kit from E4 (408/441-6060, www.e4.com).

Ya better refer to my post several weeks ago about
the "strangle" of the Dog.
techstocks.com.
Would have been an excellent play.

first of all....

YOU directed me to your post about the strangle.. I didnt just go look it up.

Second
I NEVER looked at the option prices. ......I would have looked
closer at it and maybe I would have come up with similar numbers that you did.

Friday night you said it would have been an excellent play.

I asked you to tell me why it would have been an excellent play.

How in the world can you claim something is an excellent play if you have NEVER looked at the option prices and the cause and effect of the movement.

That totally boggles my mind...

Third

this is my rep:

You know very well...that I question anybody that poses something as a play or a theory if it might have some merit but I dont understand it.
We have discussed that personally a number of times.

I questioned you very simply on your "excellent play."
I asked you to explain it
I didnt attack you.
I attacked your idea.

You refused to answer.
and gave me a "i know what I was talking about"

I didnt.

So I put the numbers to it.

It was not an excellent play

Before you call something excellent play you need to put the numbers to it

for instance

50 contracts on the bear credit spread
max loss 1875
max profit 23125

50 contracts on your excellent play
max REASONABLE loss 4375.....unlimited loss both upside and downside
max profit 3125

etc etc etc
You must do this kind of analysis in an option play before you say it is excellent.

I did forget the "opposite effect" rule when I made the post to you about a short strangle is used for volatility...that is for a long strangle and the reasons you do a short verus long are different.

Fourth

Whatever I posted I took off of a public forum for whatever reason...such as feelings and comments that should not have been part of a public forum.

Please send to me privately this post you printed out in its entirity since I dont remember what I posted and you are referring to it and you are making accusations and inferences concerning me in a public forum about something that is not part of a public forum by my choice. I will then do what I feel appropriate from there.

Fifth can you say printer....

You changed quite a few of your posts last night...and you know exactly what I mean.

you dont need to respond to this post in any way except to send me the post privately that you are making public accusations about.

You were wrong about the play being excellent. I understand that now that I put the numbers to your trading range. There is no need for you to explain the play any longer.

You are bringing issues to a public forum that should be hashed out privately.

I do not need to tell you how Lisa feels right now about any of this because you already know.

She is not thinking clearly now, or for that matter any time this week, as she is very upset about your actions and words. She has authorized me to receive a copy of the post that she chose not to make public that you referenced in this public forum.

So please send it to one of us via email, not in a private message.

I will put an email address on my profile today.

Lisa, you are right to do this. You must not take anything at face value, nor should anyone take what you say at face value when it involves their hard earned cash. It is wrong for Fred to criticize you for this.

Here is an example of Fred's of why you should not take things at face value.

S&P is far different than the NYSE and can have different ramifications.

Yes Fred, I am using a post of yours because I saw it when I was reading the post from Nemer that Lisa posted on her message. You are criticizing Lisa for trying to get to the bottom of a strategy, theory, or idea. Would you really expect her to say "Oh, I agree with you, a short straddle is an excellent play on Cube" if she felt there was something wrong with it.

If you cannot handle people trying to synthesize your ideas in trying to find out if they have merit, perhaps you should not post on TSO. They are notorious there for that. It is a process they go through to find the strengths and weaknesses in their own systems and ideas and trading styles. You cannot be a good trader until you understand your weaknesses and faulty logic and try to make adjustments.

The thread is also very supportive in helping people with their weaknesses, as Nemer does with Lisa when it comes to her undisciplined ways.

It appears a brand new face has come to the thread that may be an even bigger questioner than Lisa. Maybe you will feel safer just pasting articles to the threads because then you won't be challenged to justify your ideas.

Lisa is gone from this thread. However, if you chose to post on TSO, then expect to be treated as anyone else is on that forum. As in this humorous post from Nemer, you will most definitely be questioned on the why and the how.
