If I am not mistaken that is one of the best news items for LSI yet. They even mentioned Sony in the article with LSI. I wonder if LSI helped them in writing that news clip.

Shane, isn't it possible LSI could provide Sony with the entire logic, graphics and memory on one chip for the playstation. That would certainly cause Sony to think twice about going to another Japanese company for their separate graphics chip if the total reduction of chips can save them money.

Obviously a tremendous announcement. But the critical near term issue for LSI will be what percentage of their orders are on "Rush". Currently that is about 40 percent. I suspect that we are very close to "visiblity" and with that we shall see some genuine momentum, which in turn will be aided by strong prospects for '99 such as this announcement portends. My guess is that as of May 1, we will see 50 percent "Rush" orders with capacity at about 80 to 85 percent.
