Nice idea, how would Datek accept the idea of automated stock selling-with or without open arms? I've considered such a program in terms of a DNT real time feed then making executions via the web. There are many problems. What if someone turns off your computer? Windows 95 or NT server is hardly reliable enough to have my confidence. Also what about your ISP? They can shut down for upgrades? Telephone company breaking into your line. A dedicated line solves only a small portion of your problems.

Consider the quality of consumer software. Ask your self how many bugs would you tolerate in such a program? What about confirmations? Suppose the program is expecting a confirmation but never received it and goes bonkers selling a stock that actually sold! The price data itself is not reliable, one can hardly trust what one sees in historic data let alone real time data. Real time data and data off of the web has many glitches which would have undefined results in such a program. Still thinking, might try it someday. Interested in being a beta tester?
