It will be interesting to see what effect the dividend factor has. I tend to agree with John though.
Say your short 5 million shares of Compaq. The dividend according to John would be $50,000. Not to be sneered at by any means but then 1/32 of a point is equal to $156,250. Now tell me would you alter your position based upon the dividend factor in this case?
In many instances where the dividend is substantial I'm sure it's a factor. I just don't think it will apply here.
I'll make sure to keep it in mind for the future though. Thanks for posting it.
