<<<Look forward to your numbers, Coy, and do enjoy Hawaii a little!>>

Actually I live in Hawaii, Downtown Honolulu to be exact..
So yes I do enjoy hawaii ;)..you could be thinking of cfseattle or gdhubly from the AOL thread and here(cfseattle)..they both live in the area around seattle..

from post 333
<<<Snake,

I have to say I am concerned about this qtr, but I think they will
beat the (.20) by a cent or two a share that Zacks has them at currently...From my estimates they need about 25 million to break even
with about 1 cent loss or profit = 2.8 million dollars past or below the 25 million mark....

If anyone thinks my numbers are wrong speak up....it's all guess work

The positive things I see this qtr

Worms 2 shipped in U.S. Publish and distribute..70,000 copies
Gross margins ?(%40) = $36.00 price x %40 = $14.40 x 70,000 =
$1,008,000

****ADD 3/23/97 reorders worms 70,000 x $14.40=*****
$1,008,000

Worms europe Distribute only gross %20 (old50,000)
3/23/98 70,000 reorders
$504,000

****Magic the gathering Plainswalker worldwide (OLD120,000)
3/23/98 100,000 gross %50 $48.99ea
$2,449,500

Civ2 reorders (seemed to have sold out in my area during x-mas)
50,000 %65 $48.99ea
$1,592,175

Civ2 Fantastic worlds reorders 30,000 %65 $29.99ea
$584,805

Back catologe misc, distribution and oem
(OLD$4,000,000)
(3/23/98 $5,000,000) ceative bundle

**Ultimate Race pro (old150,000) 3/23/98 120,000 worldwide %40 $48.99
$2,351,520

**M1 TAnk Platoon (OLD150,000) 3/23/98 120,000 worldwide %65 $54.99
$4,289,200

TOTAL 3/23/98
18,787,200
25,000,000-18,787,200 =$(6,212,800)
28,600,000 shares = (.21) cents a share

I still come out about (.21) a share, but I have a gut feeling
that the numbers are going to be less than (.21)

Worms two numbers are most likely higher.....

Original magic reorders have shown up in some of the stores
retail $19.95

Creative OEM could be greater addition than one million, but it depends if they pay the fees to microprose when they ship or sale the cards...I find it hard to believe that they would get only a buck for a "new" title my guess is about 5 bucks but you have to cut kalisto in also..

Adjusted the initial shipments of M1 and Ultimate race to be more inline with Press Release

Reduced the Magic numbers...Some one on the board felt the intial shipments were less..I tend to agree...

IT ONLY TAKES ABOUT 1 MILLION TO MOVE THE EARNINGS PER SHARE
BY 2-3 CENTS...So if they do better then what I have posted..
with an extra 2 million you could be looking at earnings
of about (.16) a share

If anyone has more reliable data or a better estimation of a product
please input and I will revise the estimate and we can see how close
all of can get to the real numbers..Many heads are better than one;)

<<<Sports developer has 'Monday Night Football'
experience
by Jason Ocampo

A new sports development company has been formed. Doug Whatley,
executive producer of the ABC's Monday Night Football series,
announced last week the formation of BreakAway Games. The new
company will be comprised of the core development teams from the formerOT Sports group, including the developers responsible for ABC's Monday Night Football 98, ABC Sports College Football: Heroes of the
Gridiron, and ABC Sports: Indy Racing League.

Whatley, a former director of Product Development at OT Sports and
Sports Producer for MicroProse, said, "I am thrilled that we have been able to keep this talented group of developers together after the break-up of OT Sports.

"Not only do we have a great amount of game development experience and
work well together but this is a group of people who truly love games."

BreakAway says it plans on developing sports games for both consoles and PCs. The company says it is currently in negotiations with several
publishers. It will be based near Hunt Valley, Maryland, and its Web site can be found at www.breakawaygames.com.>>

I post this because Microprose use to own OT Sports.. then sold it to Disney for 250,000..Microprose has made many sports game in the past just look at the breakaway homepage and the titles listed...

In negotiations with several publishers....and located in Hunt Valley, Maryland(Microprose also is there)

Would seem much less risky to publish a 3rd party title then restart
the entire Microprose sports department which no longer exists..

EA already has sports..
Sierra already has sports..
Accolade already has sports..
Gt interactive has sports..
Virgin has sports....
Aklaim has sports...
Sega has sports....
Microsoft has sports..
Interplay has sports..
3do has Baseball...

Edios I think does not have any sport brands..
Activision no sports
Microprose no sports

Anybody could really pick them up as publisher..it's just interesting
considering Microprose has past ties to them..
If steve race sticks to his focus of Simulation, strategy and adventure
areas..then no dice..but if he is looking 1 to 2 years down the road and all the A+ games that Microprose will put out during this time
making the Microprose brand strong again...then that is great leverage to jump back into another area such as sports to continue the company's growth..(at least if I was CEO I would look into it)..as long as his main focus is always QUALITY TITLES..
which seems to be the case now...
