Adaptec will not buy back stock.

The Symbios acquisition will use up all their cash. Only Oracle is so badly mismanaged that they would borrow money to buy their own stock.

Marcus: I agree. Good reasons to buy. Your post points out two big things going for Adaptec: 1) past performance indicating good management and good product; and 2) a market that looks solid for the forseeable future. The stock is undervalued.

That doesn't mean, of course, that tomorrow, or next week, or next month it won't be even more undervalued. I see a dip before a general upward trend. The stock is in a fog and carrying some baggage right now, weighing it down: Symbios, projected flat quarter, tech earnings warnings (including Quantum today), lawsuits. At some point, the fog will lift. Pity those who sleep too late.
