Paul, I just meant that TA works for me, when I apply the time. It's not a science either, it's an art. Sometimes the TA doesn't give clear signals either. Then sometimes there is word on the street circulating, such as the "rumors" on Wed. of this very deal that reached fruition on Sunday. The TA told me to buy more on Wednesday, but I was scared that the deal wouldn't go through. I'm kind of cautious about just how much I'm gambling at any given time.

Here's one thing that "proves" something: Back on Feb. 19th, I did a lot of leg work on the driller charts mostly, and also a few other driller service oriented stocks. I analyzed 12 stocks total, and wrote down the preliminary target price, at which, depending on the time frame, I would decide to either sell or hold (if I was in them) for my secondary target price. I wrote down 1st and 2nd targets for each of the 12 stocks.

Target #1 for RIG was $53. I wrote this down a month ago. Today, RIG traded at $53, but backed off to close $52, making a "black candle" (close price lower than opening price). Guess what? RIG hit resistance, right where I figured it would. You can say it is a coincidence, but I think not. RIG has been flying, and that was where the wall was hit. So I expect some sideways movement, some down days, etc. But then, if oil prices hold up, it's on to target #2, IMO.

I have no interest in becoming a guru, so I'd rather keep the other stock price targets to myself. They are for me to stay oriented with, and provide a sort of road map.

DK

Please save bandwidth and drop this old tired debate. Without difference of opinion the market would be boring. If the TA'ers are so wrong then you'll get their money.

I can show you any number that show that it doesn't work. But since you contend that it works the burden of proof is on you.

Arch Crawford ranks in the highest echelon of market-timers. He uses astrology and TA. Which one do you believe in?
