Dear Silicon Investor users,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Patrick McDonagh, Manager of Derivatives Marketing at the Toronto Stock Exchange.

In January of this year Derivative Markets at the TSE began a derivatives marketing and education campaign. The campaign is designed to increase the awareness of derivative products among investors, provide investor education, and increase service to options and futures users. Retail marketing activities thus far have included public educational seminars held across the country, development of derivatives educational information, and enhancements to the TSE web site.

I would like to access Silicon Investor to announce marketing activities as they occur, and provide any other information that might be relevant. On that note, I would like to draw your attention to the improvements we have made to option quotes on the TSE web site. You now have access to a complete option chain when you request a quote. This is an improvement over information that was previously available, and I hope this meets with your satisfaction. The web site is a very important marketing and educational tool. The TSE will be continually upgrading the web site, and attention will be paid to the development of new features and functions on the site for derivatives investors.
I hope to be making more announcements in the near future.

Sincerely,
Patrick McDonagh

Clearer on Option Prices

Hi Porter:

Thanks for the note on GAC option pricing. I wouldn't have thought time would make much difference because these are October calls, but a change in the volatility makes sense.

Oh, and thanks for those Bld Apr 190 calls you sold me yesterday. <g> I put in the ask (3.15) at the time, but got them for 2.70. Very encouraging.

Bob
