Albert , that is over 10 % of AMD shares short
Judging by the last 15 yrs of AMD's history this is the worst time to be short as historically it rallies strongly in the first 4-5 months of the year . That rally cannot be attributed to more promising Q1 earnings prospects since it is consistant at least since 1990 (except 1996) and therefore must be due to investors view of prospects over the next full year ,

PS also with that terrific looking base support , these short sellers must be expecting the end of the world in order to profit from these sales .
