However, I recently left a very well known high technology company who's core technology was being picked away at by the competition more and more with competing technologies. In an attempt to maintain sales, this company went on a buying spree of "related technologies" a few years back and truly has never recovered. If they can handle the tremendous infrastructure change then all the power to them. I held ADPT since 1992 and sadly sold out this year as I saw a repeat of a familiar patterns and too many other opportunities. Hopefully I am wrong, but I am certainly skeptical.

If the past is of any value, there are some bad and good merger/acquisition . To my opinion: Lotus acquisition by IBM was the best move they did. Sperry/Boroughs merger, of which Unisys came out, was a disaster. IBM's move was not only strategically sound but financially rewarding. Speryy/Boroughs saga was, let's get bigger . bigger is better kinda thing!! And That's the differentiating factor. I'm of the belief that ADPT thinks: a) Sector is down but merger opportunities are up b) Market penetration can be boosted by RIGHT acquisition c) Product lines can be extended , resulting in more cash flow. d) All the bad news are out and timing is perfect e) ... If they can pull it off, they gonna have GREAT late 98 and magnificent 99. My opinions not facts. Let's see,,,, Camron
