In the news release of Analog's Read Channel technology, the CEO states ... "It also fits in with our strategic decision to concentrate on other areas of our business, specifically analog ICs and DSP products." I've always respected Analog's diversity. They make several products outside of this narrow focus (MEMS, etc.) I'm left wondering if there is a fundamental shift in Analog's directive. This sale might be the first of several such sales in an attempt to focus their engineering staff on what management may deem to be the most profitable areas?
