Yes - this was, hands down, the most amazing team of people I've ever worked with, and many of them got screwed by the fall in stock value. I made some lucky guesses and sold high, many others believed the BS coming from informix and lost big, big $ on paper.

It is interesting that people are saying that Illustra people were ripped off - let me just point out a couple of things:

1. Their collective stake is still over $120MM, even at today's prices. For a company with less than 10MM in revenues, 5MM in losses, and an unproven product, that is pretty good.

2. These guys didn't have to shell out money from their pockets to buy the shares like many of the investors. Some of their paper-profits have vanished, but they haven't had out-of-pocket losses like many others have.
