To respond to your question "where did that come from", there are many ways to look at things...The worst case scenario is if you bought last Fall at $52 = OUCH!! I will try and post a link ( I am not good at this so let's see if it works)...The link will explain my thoughts...But bottom line, the market has many stocks breaking previous 52 week highs and even moving forward from there...AMAT doing this...NOPE! Before everyone goes on the attack, because I know you will say that AMAT has returned a compounded rate of return of probably +25%, far exceeding the Dow or stocks in general, and you are right....But has everyone held this stock for that particular time period?! So again, check out my link, and like I said before, it all depends on when you bought and sold.
