there is a very good book on this type of trading called "profitting in bull and bear markets, by weinstein...although not exactly like james' it has similar characteristics. anyone who wants an introduction to some basic ta concepts should pick this up. its main focus is trendlines and moving avgs, it also incorporates volume, but doesn't get into a lot of indicators. this was the book that sparked my interest to further study ta. i think it's a great starting point.

Good Questions...

Rick:

Very good Questions...

My question is:
How does an investor take this information and put it into practical use to make money?
1. Does one invest in all 20 stocks equally or just the best ones? How do you find the
best ones?
2. When does one buy (immediately when posted or later) and sell and how many can
be expected to go up vs down?
3. Is this a short term trading system (1-5 days) or long term?
4. Has this system been backtested to determine the % that can be expected to go up.

1. The initial list is used as a starting point for additional Fundamental analysis to select the strongest companies... It can also be used to select those stocks on the list with the greatest momentum for short term trading...

2. One buys after they have paper traded the list for a while... Each investor/trader has their own style... We all have to find what works for us individually...

3. This can be used for both short term and long term investing... Keep in mind that before a stock can achieve 52 week highs it must pass its 13 week high...

4. I haven't scientifically backtested the 13's approach... This is more intuitive based on my Technical and Fundamental trading/investing experience... Anyone with the time and means is welcome to backtest or front test as the data starts piling up...

Thanks for the excellent questions...
