I've only been to the Sierras a couple of times, once to go hiking and once to visit Yosemite and Sequoia. We need more glacial valleys. And more mountain building. I guess it would be on the San Andreas, that's where the continental plate slides over the one to the west of it, isn't it? Down here the San Andreas is way to the east, out in the direction of Palm Springs. The fault is a lot closer to home for you in the Bay area. The faults we have locally can't store up the kind of firepower the San Andreas can hold.
