[The " beginning in a new phase"]

Good morning, Pat!

Wow - that's interesting. I especially like this part:

But the Model 805 is not the completion of Amati research. The Model 805 signals a beginning in a new phase of ADSL equipment from Amati.

As the future generations of high-speed semiconductors offer faster signal processing and system concentration at even lower power levels, Amati will continue to implement these solutions as part of an
overall system response.

The Allegro Access Concentrator architecture will continually be upgraded to provide optimal network performance using the latest modem design. This means that utilizing the Amati modem and access system
architecture today will ensure highest performance in the future, no matter which DMT architecture is the best choice for your application.

I wonder, though...wouldn't TI competing with their potential C6X ADSL customers make them unhappy? Willing to use someone else's chips?

Where does this leave WSTL, I wonder? I am *so* happy TI came along, and saved us from the merger w/ Westell.

What do you think about Nortel's EDSL? It sounds rather significant to me.

Heck of a puzzle, this.
