Cook has brought quicken back from the brink in terms of making it acceptable for banks to offer quicken to thier customers, but if it's a quicken button, it may very well be bad for quicken (and thus for CF) in the long run, because it may put cook/quicken back into the column of "competitor" to the banks (ala gates) who want their own brands (not intuits) proliferated. this isn't likely to make the Chases, Nations, and Wells Fargo's of the world very happy!

To my ear this sounds too much like Intuit and BOA against the world! What right of initiation do you suppose another bank will have to go through in order to become "a participating financial institution"? If another bank chooses to play, will they be limited to offering the "Intuit/BOA defined product"? Also, given that cf is not mentioned, it might be that BOA or someone else will be handling the presentment/payment processing.

just food for thought
