Melissa,

I don't really agree. Databases are part and parcel of ERP systems. Oracle's database business is a great foundation for a kick ass ERP system. If they are now shifting their main focus onto their ERP systems group, then they are following the trend and that bodes well for Oracle.

To do well in this explosive growth area, they don't have to be the leaders, just a good follower. Also, Oracle has ERP implementations at some pretty major companies. For instance, Cisco has the largest Oracle implementation in the world.
