SAN JOSE, Calif., March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- A class action lawsuit has been
filed in Santa Clara County Courthouse, San Jose, California, by a consumer
patient who allegedly overpaid for vision-correction surgery known as
photorefractive keratectomy. The complaint alleges that the defendants Visx,
Inc., and Summit Technology Corporation engaged in antitrust activities
through a "pooling" arrangement between the two defendants for the vision
corrective surgery. The case has been filed as class action on behalf of
patient consumers throughout the United States. The consumers are represented
by, among other firms, William M. Audet of The Alexander Law Firm, San Jose,
California, and Kevin M. Prongay of Prongay & Borderud, Pacific Palisades,
California.
