I, too, thought about continuing the buyback as vigorously as possible.
But why waste the money if the price is going to continue to slide? I think we are going to see some grim earnings reported in the next couple of days, and that the price will slide some more. After the shock has been absorbed, begin the buyback activity again. More shares could be bought at the lower price. Buying shares at current prices would make sense if Joe knows we're going to have a great earnings report. But if he knows the report is going to be bad, wait until the news is out, the price falls some more, then start buying again. JMO George E.

Grant,

I would like to assume that whatever is left from the SMTK sale is already earmarked for aquisitions. At todays current price of $34, we are looking at proceeds of $12M, subtract out $5M for the buyback and $1.2M for taxes and we are looking at using the remaining $5.8M to aquire another company.

BTW, today's action has me a little worried. The MMs have now dropped the bid down to 1.59. We are now backwards to what we were doing before ('up on rumor', 'down on news'). With news supposedly coming out tomorrow and friday and the news letter going in the mail tommorow morning, we are 'down on rumor'!

RT:

last: 1.65
bid: 1.59
ask: 1.65
