It was really strange for msft to pre-announce. I think it is a tremendously bullish signal about what is going to happen down the road. More bullish than many people can understand now.

My first thought yesterday was that Microsoft uncharacteristically pre-announced earnings to counter potential damage for the Tuesday afternoon Java court ruling going against them. However no one believes the ruling means much... Does the loss of the rights to use the Java logo mean that Microsoft would no longer would have to pay Java licensing fees to Sun?
