Rocky,

>>>>>My Cd-R works beautifully.
I just loaded up my E-Mu sampler with 32MB worth of sounds from my new mail-ordered CD, and my old Phillips 8x external Cd-Rom reads the Sony Gold Cd-R disc like a charm. So much for compatibility concerns. So now I'm interested in getting my own CD-R burner. No need for any Iomega products!

Do you like speed? If you don't then CDR or CDW is for you. I have a HP 7200 CDW, (2x write 6x read)it is awesome, but slow. If you want reliable disc, you may want to write at 1x, althought it will work at well at 2x.

Have a 100 meg file(s) you want to move to it...well that is going to take a while. If I move 100 megs to my SCSI Zip, it is under 2 minutes. A Jaz would be faster. A CDR is SLOW. However, the CDR is something I could not live without!!!!
