Dan, freeedgar doesn't show 144 filings. Edgar-Online.com does, but to get the details (# shares, price, name, etc.) you have to subscribe. You can see the dates of the 144s for free though.

The reason they show up late on the SEC site is that it's free -- the govt has to have something to sell to the commercial filing sites. In this case it's time -- they pay to get it first.

If you have a membership to thestreet.com, it provides access to Edgar online.
