Comical Compaq!! Pat: Check this out,form upside.com. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Lose Some (3/16-3/20) Comical Compaq: Compaq's feeling the burn right now. With a little inventory gout, the pudgy PC vendor is trying to purify, liquidate and generally purge the channels. All that clogging and backup killed the company's quarterly returns last week, and now Eckhard Pfeiffer has to turn around and give product away. Compaq's giving away monitors as part of $875 PC packages--sounds like it's not only the monitors it's giving away. So far Wall Street has not displayed vexation, but giveaways aren't the best way to add to the bottom line.
