TPI and MainControl, Inc. Announce Strategic Alliance
March 31, 1998 -- Vienna, VA and Mississauga, ON: In a move to provide comprehensive Information Technology (IT) asset management solutions for their respective customers, MainControl, Inc., a leader in the enterprise Information Technology asset and systems management market, and Transformation Processing Inc., (TPI and OTCBB:TPII), a leader in Year 2000 solutions and Groupware, today announced a strategic marketing agreement.
Under the agreement, TPI will provide consulting and support services for Canadian customers using MainControl's MC/EMpower integrated suite of asset and system management products. TPI, in turn, will recommend MainControl's products to TPI's customer base.
"Organizations throughout Canada and elsewhere have been clamoring for comprehensive IT asset management solutions," said Patrick Batty, General Manager, Canadian Operations for MainControl. "By working with an organization like TPI, that understands that IT asset management requirements have been intensified by Year 2000 projects, we can provide our Canadian customers the full range of asset management solutions - from procurement and installation of IT assets to upgrades and, eventually retirement. TPI will provide essential technical, consulting and implementation support for our MC/EMpower product."
"We selected MainControl for a strategic alliance after thorough research revealed MC/EMpower provided the tightest integration between asset tracking and financial reporting of IT investments and supplied customers with a full repository/accounting of all assets," said Doug Woolridge, President of TPI. "That repository is a critical starting point for any organization seeking to optimize their use of the IT infrastructure, centralize costs and ensure its technology assets are Year 2000 compliant. We were also impressed by MC/EMpower's ability to provide an entire lifecycle approach to asset management."
The alliance underscores MainControl's commitment to the Canadian market. In December, MainControl announced the establishment of a Canadian operation in Toronto to meet growing demand for its MC/EMpower product suite. TPI continues to broaden its Year 2000 solution offering while building on its already successful Groupware business.
