GPW EXPANDS TERRITORY FOR INTO 2000 SALES AND SERVICES

1998-03-27
BURNABY, B.C.

Group West Systems is pleased to announce that it has negotiated an amendment
to its agreement with INTO 2000 Inc. to expand the sales territory to include
the entire United States. In order to increase coverage in the North
American marketplace, INTO 2000 Inc. and Group West Systems decided it was
more beneficial for Group West to have the non-exclusive rights to market the
product and factory services in all of Canada and the United States.
Previously, Group West had an exclusive territory agreement that included
Canada and the Pacific Northwest, with a non-exclusive agreement for
California, Nevada and several other states.

This new arrangement makes advertising through the Internet and through
national publications much more cost effective and increases our potential to

reach more prospective customers. Group West has already initiated
advertising to take advantage of the new arrangement with INTO 2000 Inc.

Simultaneously to this Group West release, John S. McCracken, Chairman and
CEO of INTO 2000 Inc. announced the company is shipping Version 5.0 of the
INTO 2000 tool set. With Version 5.0, INTO 2000 becomes the world's first
year-2000 tool set to offer the user the ability to apply virtually every
proven date conversion technique within the same project. There is no
one-date conversion technique that can handle all user situations. Following
the INTO 2000 methodology, users can now mix and match techniques to meet the
needs they have in the time that is left.

INTO 2000 is the only complete client/server tool set for the year 2000
problem in the AS/400 RPG environment. The product includes an automated
methodology, point and click analysis tools and rebuild tools. INTO 2000
works on PCs running Windows 3.1, Windows 95 or on Window/NT servers and
through standard connectivity tools to the AS/400 such as IBM's
Client/Access, Wall Data's Rumba or NetSoft's Midrange Bundle. INTO 2000 is
available worldwide. The tool set is tier base priced from $10,000 to
$50,000 per CPU, or on a lines of code basis from certified INTO 2000 service
providers.

Group West Systems Ltd. is focusing on the midrange market with offices
located throughout Canada and the western United States. Group West also
provides a comprehensive range of services to the rapidly evolving
information technology services industry including such leaders as Rogers
Sugar, Pharmasave, BC Rail, Toronto Dominion Bank and Microsoft Corporation.
