New to this thread. Found your Powerline discussion interesting.

(Got there from the "Nortel Profile" link , at top of this page.

You may have seen "X10" systems , sold by Radio Shack and a
company called Home Automation Systems -- these systems are used
for home alarm, and appliance/lamp control through your home's
electrical power lines (mains).

In some cases -- "signal bridges" are necessary where power transformers are involved.

It may be that the US power companies would also have to cooperate
with NT in this project, by installing some sort of "signal
bridges" on their power transformers (which are usually located
on the power companies poles, or in power vaults.

Should I buy NT now ??
