Shane,

Yes, I liked your S.I. article on LSI very much.

Say, where'd you get that long term support at 19? <gg>

And, thanks for posting the set-top-box article. I agree, that story is starting to get muddy for me, too.

A demain,

E

Wizard...Super post on the set-top box situation..and some of the players! But this article is tell us that the whole market could develop much more slowly than some of us (TSO anyway) were anticipating.. "The pospect of buying a dital box at a consumer electronics store is likely five years away"..
Another shock for me (TSO is easily shocked).. is that the fight for the desktop box Operating System is not necessarily between MSFT and SUNW...but perhaps Scientific Atlanta's "Power TV" OS instead.
Best of the items in the article, however, was the prospect that the battle for the chips might well turn out to be amongst LSI, VLSI and TXN...And I hope INTC stays busy elsewhere while LSI sucks up this market <g>...
Great post..thanks for finding and sharing.. TSO

Shane,

Thought I would chain link this news item to your last post.

Do you think that Sony may make some room for LSI if LSI were inclined to do cable with a little more gusto? but, I agree there's got to be more of a market worldwide for satellite so it may be the better place to be.
