re:Arkansas shotting
just a sign of the times..our culture has gone to instant gratification...people turn to self interest..ie look at clinton's
ratings...geez look at the women's groups --talk about hypocrisy..
heard an interview a while back on tv with a young teenager saying
the scandal was great because that means that she might be interested
in going into politics since it is okay if you do wrong things..
(ps I still think Clinton is brilliant, has done a lot of good, really
cares but has one huge problem typical of people coming from disfunctional families..control freaks who are out of control in certain areas)(think there are a lot more top people out there who just don't care)so many families are forced to have two jobs...so stressed that they
don't have time to notice if their kids are troubled..in this day and
age it would seem that children even need more attention from their
caretakers..
also now wonder how much stress these latest shootings have added to
working parents who care deeply about their children and are worried
now for their safety at school...
look at tv shows..no more columbo's or quincy's etc or Northern
exposures..actually I don't watch much tv except for news shows..
which I had better stop since a bit depressing...
actually just read that HIP..a NY healthcare is offering spiritual
consoling..
heard somebody from one of high tech companies complaining about
immigrant bill to get more foreign engineers..
geez..remembering hearing from my friends in high tech in early nineties saying extremely difficult to get jobs because a lot of
corps were hiring immigrants at much lower wages for programming jobs
and laying off higher salaried workers..I am not crying for the
high tech companies...
anyways..as I have told friends..cross cultural suggests that in
cultures where conditions are harshest, the people tend to be more
civilized in the sense they are more caring..so if hard times return
maybe that will be great!!!!!
re Year2000 problem
friend said he read remediation might take 1 trillion to fit..wow..
doesn't that have to really put a lid on high tech since companies
budgets will find it difficult to add new hardware and software and
put most of their budgets into remediation..great for consulting firms
and IBM since they have huge service capabilities..also won't that
cut into Microsoft..even those pcs are cheaper and cheaper and the
companies still have to pay Microsoft for operating system..
