Steve:
7/16's is very good. I have placed a limit order, all or none, say the low side is 40 5/8, I key in buy 1000 shares at 40 1/2 good for the day. If it dips down the order is filled, if not I wait until the next day. If you placed the same order, you would key in buy 1000 shares at 40.5625 all or none, good for the day, right? Also, you will have to search for stocks with a wide ask, bid ratio. I noticed today IOM the low side was 6 7/8 & the high side was 6 15/16, so this would not be a good canidate. Here's one with a good daily spread ORCTF, 18 1/2 to 15 1/2. If this trades down to 15 1/2 tomorrow, I see little or no risk and a good day trade even without a wide ask-bid spread.
