<Do you think they'll be able to overcome the limitations of the cpu as currently outlined in order to be able to put it in a desktop/deskside form factor? How long do you think before it will be price/performance competitive with x86? How long before somebody wraps their brain around a compiler that will do it justice? How long before you can afford a cpu with >50M transistors? Power consumption? Have you really thought about all the issues, or are you extrapolating from INTC past performance?> So I guess that technology and innovation stop at the Merced? How long did it take for these things to happen in teh jump from 8086 to 286, to 386, to 486? 586? 686?
