Feeus,..Re:<<maybe this is Kaufman's way of getting noticed?>>

Strange way to get noticed - delivering misinformation. His 7 reasons not only included wrong information, but he drew illogical conclusions.

PC's from at least the top 5 vendors are undifferentiated. - How come there is a ranking then?

Dell has no proprietary technology relative to IBM/CPQ/HP - Dell's lack of proprietary technology allows for 7 days inventory turns.

We are facing an oversupply situation for all PC Components. -
Somehow this logic escapes me.

A price war is being waged - As long as I've been following this segment, a price war has existed.

IBM, CPQ and HP will not allow DELL to take an annualized run rate of $1.6 billion in operating profit from them in this environment. - I'm not sure it is a question of 'allowing'.

We believe that the low priced PCs, not Dell's stated target market, will be good enough for general office productivity stations. - They are welcome to their beliefs.

IDC predicts that US PC shipments will slow from 19% to 15% in the US. Global PC shipment estimates are in the 14% range - If they mean this year, I believe that the first quarter has already shown that demand has not significantly slowed and that Europe is increasing. Will cite sources if required.

Same old hogwash we hear constantly.

Lee
