I suspect that there are some laws to govern opening of mail.

Gee. Well, yeah, I suspect so. And you claim to be a lawyer?

The issue is movie rentals. Who cares (unless there is something to hide)?

Actually the issue is NOT movie rentals. I was the one who brought taht up. But sorry, I believe quite a LOT of people care. Most Americans do feel rather strongly about their right to privacy, increasingly violated these days.

Our President is a liar and a serial fondler and adulterer.

I ask again: You claim to be a lawyer? Ever heard of the "innocent till proved guilty" stuff?

He's a "serial fondler"? OH GOD HELP US!!! A MONSTER!!! An adulterer? That's between him and Hillary.

THIS is what I object to: this rubbish is not public business.

JL -- <<Doesn't bother me. I have nothing to hide.>>

It bothers me plenty. I'm a citizen of the US of A and I don't like people prying into my business. Or anybody else's.

SFE (how appropriate!)

JLA,

You write, "Doesn't bother me. I have nothing to hide."

Statements such as this are singularly troubling to me, especially when made by an attorney. That you think you have nothing to hide does not give the right to others to go poking around looking at what you think you don't have to hide. There is such a thing as the right to privacy and the right to be left alone. Few of the people whose affairs Starr is or will be poking around in are running for public office.
