I take it this is Arianna Huffinapolous of the Perfect Spiritual Marriage that fell apart once she realized she could never carve hapless hubby into presidential timber? Quick flashback: Little Arianna started life as an art historian. She wrote a book about Van Gogh that sold marvelously. Unfortunately it was almost totally plagiarized. (Anyone who doubts this should check out the relevant Times Literary Supplement articles for the period. Word for word. Passage for passage.) Her publisher settled for a reputedly large sum. AND THEN, to the outrage of everyone, signed her to write another book. Well, after all, the first one, dishonest an effort as it was, had made money, a rare thing with art books. So she tried again. This time Picasso. Ooops, had to do most of it herself, and it bombed. That's when she got married and tried to groom poor Huff. I saw them do an interview with Larry King once and nearly died laughing. She was doing the Nancy Reagan Adoring Smile thing, but not getting it right: was instead sort of staring at him with her mouth a little open. Looked for all the world like a ventriloquist. She is a genuinely evil woman. But she had a GREAT facelift. Ugly as sin ten years ago.
