Tony. A.Grove. I had not listened to the radio today but the story about Andy Grove and the 5% stock buyback of Intel stock has been on CNBC all day. Andy Grove will be on CNN Moneline tonight. Oops it's already time for it. I am taping it. But here is another article where A.G. explains his decision. You may have read it already.

Possible job cuts by UIS. I don't know how job cuts could affect you. Even though there are very high numbers of layoffs in the industry now, CEO's supposedly are screaming for more workers. They are saying there are not enough skilled workers for those jobs. Congress has a couple of plans on the table to let in more foreign workers, about 25000 more a year (in addition to the 65000 already allowed in every year), or those cos. will have to move their business off shore, again supposedly. Tell me where I am wrong!! As far as I know there is not an abundance of good high tech jobs available in that area here. Disclaimer. This is mostly hear say. I have friends whose children are looking for good paying high tech jobs. Could it be that we are trying to keep the wages down? I am not too knowledgeable about job opportunities in the cpt industry. Maybe there is a greater need for workers in Silicon Valley. Bill Gates was advocating hiring of foreign workers or maybe he was just saying there is a shortage (I only got the end of the story on TV) but when my daughter started out in the cpt industry with good skills and applied for a higher job there, she was told she had the skills but was a little young for that certain position with older workers to supervise. gg. Of course that was years back. She has one of those jobs now somewhere else. Maybe Msft could hire more full time workers instead of all those part timers and temps and then they would not need foreign workers. My wife's friend's son is or was a contract worker for Msft but did not get hired for a full time position no matter how hard he tried and he was definitely skilled. I found that out when I was in Seattle. I think he left now. So maybe there is more to that job shortage than meets the eye. What do you think?

Well, at least Intel had a good day today but that UIS news did not help HWP.

I will check for your reply later tonight.

Sonny
