All this assumes Cidco, not InfoGear, gets the $4.95 per month.

According to "Computer Phones: One for Your Desk..." -FORTUNE 1/12/98: "By spring you'll be able to log on via any Internet provider, in which case Cidco's monthly charge will drop to $4.95."

If in fact Cidco gets the fee, we're talking big money.

I see some posts that people were buying on the bad news day. Personally I think there is more downside left. Intelidata has gone threw everything Cidco is just beggining to face. INTD kept telling us the smartphone market was going to be great and now are admitting the sector will take time to develop for all companies. I think 98 will be a crappy year for Cidco then start buying.
I also see that they will charge 4.95 a month if you already have an internet account, except AOL. So without AOL big trouble in that area. Also how much of the monthly fee does Cidco actually get.
So some big hurdles to overcome for Cidco and INTD. It is best for the whole industry if both companies get these products out there to get the ship moving.
The big deal will be when telcos get involved in promoting them.
