I certainly would never invoke His name to defend Bill Clinton! Your self righteous indignation is really laughable for someone who has obviously deemed her opinion more worthy than someone else's (I'm sure its not just mine). JLA

Janice, while I do admire your statement "A principle is a principle. They don't exist to be defended only for causes you--or I--deem "worthy".;

There clearly was not this brouhaha of Democratic outrage when Oliver North's wife, his minister, etc., were being issued subpoenes. And when Senator Bob Packwood's diaries were being subpoened by the Democratic Congress. And when juicy snippets of those diaries were being published in the newspapers. Outrage? The outrage was that Bob Packwood would was evidently a womanizer when it came to his office staffers and other associates. Packwood was tried first in the media, then by Congress, and found guilty.

Again, I understand that you and Holly weren't in favor of all those tactics, and I commend you. Actually, Holly hadn't even heard that juicy excerpts from Packwood's diaries were published in the paper...hmmm..wonder why? Maybe no outrage at the time? Too bad the majority of your Democratic brothers and sisters had never heard of the word "principle" back when the goal was to oust Republican officials. But really, all this outrage about Starr rings quite empty and hollow to me.
