That's really fair, Christine: You give a very long response, and say that you are going to ignore my posts, "because they're so unpleasant".

re When your beliefs are so judgmental and inaccurate that you conclude homosexuals are sinners, and do not deserve equal civil rights like the right to employment,

There you go, telling me my beliefs are "inaccurate". Wrong. I can believe anything I want to, as long as I don't break any laws.

but my point is that rigid conservative Christian belief systems about homosexuals hurt them horrendously in this society.

That's what you think, but you have yet to prove anything, besides your own vehemently biased beliefs. I asked for proof that it was conservative Christians kicking their kids out, but of course I got no documented cases. Indeed, nobody here has ever heard of even one case ever of a conservative Christian kicking their kid out on the street because they were gay.

But you will believe your biases, and that's fine. Fact: From my personal public school experience thru grade twelve, I can confidently say that it was the non-religious juvenile delinquents who most frequently used an insulting word referring to gays when wanting to insult someone.

But hey, I know you don't care about facts, Christine, because these kinds of facts don't fit your anti-Christian agenda.

re As far as I am concerned, you can believe anything you want to, AS LONG AS YOUR BELIEFS DO NOT HURT INNOCENT BYSTANDERS... and do not deserve equal civil rights like the right to employment,...In fact, across America more and more people are voting against equal rights for homosexuals,

At the risk of saying it for the 16th time, I will repeat: I believe that it is wrong to discriminate against anyone on any basis except job performance, how they get along with co-workers, etc. The military is a different situation, because of the open showers. If the military would have everyone shower together, men, women, gays, transvestites, etc, then there wouldn't be, in my personal opinion, any reason for the military to kick gays out of the military service. But as long as the military is going to have separate showers for women and men, then there must be a reason for it: The government doesn't have a right to force naked people together in the same bathrooms and bedrooms who are physically, sexually attracted to each other.

The only initiatives I've heard about regarding homosexuals were those which prohibited awarded "special" rights to gays. What that means is there's no reason gays should be awarded affirmative action status, for this reason: Christine, how many homosexuals do you know that are unemployed because they are not being hired because they are homosexual?

If you don't know any of these unemployed gays, then I would suggest that all of your liberal "compassion" is going out to who? I'll tell you who your compassion is going to, Christine: It's going to you and you only. You want to believe that you have all the "right" beliefs. You even jokingly suggested that "Liberals are perfect". Even jokingly, why would you say something like that, unless you really believed it? You, in your beliefs, are JUST as, if not more self-righteous than all those conservative Christians that you spend so much time trying to discredit and denigrate. This is going to be blunt, but I have to say it: You are a hypocrite of the highest order.

Re You said several posts back that you were BORN Christian. No, you weren't!

Don't try to tell me what my religious beliefs are, Christine. You are always doing that. I believe that all children are "children of God", which means that they, in an "innocent" state, are automatically God's children, and if they die as a child, God takes them to him.

re Many people can accept that all religions are belief systems, which by implication implies giving space to people who believe differently

Certainly. In fact I think I have said as much already. But no, I don't believe that Jews have the same beliefs as Moslems, and that Moslems have the same beliefs as Christians, etc. I'm not going to judge other religions Christine, because that's not my place. I believe in my religious beliefs, and that's enough for me. My personal religious beliefs are for me, not for a Moslem, an Arab, an atheist, you, or anyone else.

Within Christianity, many denominations have come to accept homosexuals, incidentally, and some even ordain homosexual ministers. So your belief system is yours, but not really reflective of all Christians. Some Christians see God and Jesus as punitive figures, full of retribution, and some see God and Jesus as warm and loving and accepting.

I have repeatedly stated that I DON'T CARE what other people's beliefs are. Why would I care, and why would you think I care, and why do you care if I care or not? You're absolutely right though (Hey, I agree with something here!), that MY beliefs are MINE. They don't do anyone else any good. You have this odd view that all religious should all have the same beliefs, which is really odd and wacky, and makes no sense. Religous beliefs are PERSONAL, only in effect between the individual and whoever/whatever that individual worships, whether it be:

a tree,
a whale,
the Baal fertility goddess Ashtaroth,
Yahweh,
the great I AM
a shiny new car

I do wonder how you and the other people who are so condemning of homosexuals

Sorry if I misrepresented my powers, Christine, really I am. You see, I don't have the power to condemn anyone. Period. For anything. Not even for murder. I hope you understand that. It's just that my personal relationship with my worshipee precludes certain activities in order for me to continue the same healthy relationship.

Imagine being told by a bunch of true believers in some religion, who had most of the power in a society, that you could never, ever make love to a woman because it is wrong!! And that you had to make love with men, or spend your entire life alone, denying your sexuality completely.

Since I have freedom of religion in the good old USA, that wouldn't bother me. I would continue to adhere to my religious principles, even on pain of death. Again, what Lemmings do has never concerned me. Not a bit.

re Most heterosexual men would go crazy under that regime, and if you could understand that homosexuality is not a choice, and is almost never changeable,

What's your point? Most heerosexual men crave sex on a regular basis. What happens in the gap time between regular partners? Do you want the government to set up a free brothel, for unpartnered heterosexuals to go to have their urges sated? Is this another inalienable right, the right to vigorous sex on a daily basis? This is the attitude which encourages sexual harrassment in the workplace.

re I would hope you would be slightly less judgmental about this group of people and start comprehending the damage that has been done to them by labelling them as sinners (bad people).

Christine, if you have some kind of guilty trip because homosexuals don't get enough sex or work or something, why don't you start your own outreach center, instead of venting on the web, which does nothing productive except satisfy your sense of righteousness?

re You cannot really argue that you are tolerant of homosexuals as long as you perceive them as sinners who are not entitled to the full protection of the law.

Wait a minute, you're saying two things at once here. My personal religious beliefs forbids yellow cars, homosexual sex, mainlining crack cocaine, and flowered wallpaper. Nonetheless, I am quite tolerant of people who have flowered wallpaper. I've never once personally insulted anyone who indeed has flowered wallpaper.

I believe that the Constitution is quite correct in that all people inalienable rights to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That would include the right to work, as long as there are employers with jobs available. Employers cannot discriminate on the basis of religious beliefs, race, marital status, etc. Until you can provide me with proof that gays are unemployed due to their sexual performance or proclivities, then I believe that the current laws are enough. There is no reason to enact new special laws simply to assist Liberals in their efforts to change people's private religious beliefs.

Face it, Christine, that's the only thing that really bothers you: That my religious beliefs preclude homosexual sex. That's it. That's the ENTIRE issue. AGAIN: Get out of my religious beliefs. They are not your business.

Good luck with your agenda. You might try joining a church which is 100% gay; you would probably feel very comfortable there, where nobody is saying any sex things are wrong. You're obviously very sensitive to other people's personal religious beliefs, and again, I suggest that counseling may be the best, most health course of action here. Clearly you will be miserable the rest of your life if you are waiting for all religions to have the same beliefs.

Christine,
The man that shot at us was in a militia group that meet about 5 miles north of us. A week after that happened I was in a field behind our house throwing balls to my son when a large black helicopter started circling my house and getting lower and lower. It got low enough for us to see inside and they started shining a light all over the house and back yard then left. The week after this happened I heard a gunshot that sounded like it was coming from the front yard. I crawled down the hall to get my kids behind the sofa when I saw my neighbor run outside. I went out and asked him what he saw, he said it was a big black helicopter circling my house and then he heard a shot. He is retired military so he is familiar with the sound. The FBI then told me it was probably from this militia group. I said what is happening that they can get helicopters like that. Then they told me not to open my mail and to watch for airplanes also. In a way I think we are at war and don't even know it.
Donald Anderson wrote a letter he sent to the paper before he did this and in it he says Tim McVeigh did the right thing in destroying the people who serve the Jewnited states. This is a very dangerous and sick thing happening and most seem to be oblivious to it.
I am praying for peace and continue to tell of what is happening to us so people will not be surprised by these groups. Since they use the title of Christian I will explain that Jesus taught love and tolerance and submission to governing authorities, I can't understand where they feel the right to use him for devisive plans. I hope you have a great day today, we are having storms today which I love if I am at home. Nancy
