Nancy, we had sunshine this morning, then really sudden storms, and now it is sunny again, with no sign of the rains that came and left. I hope your storms are ending, too. Time for a beautiful weekend spent outdoors, I hope. I am very perplexed about the role of "Christians" in the militia movement, and the the Ku Klux Klan and all the other groups in America who teach hatred and hurt other people. What on earth symbolism is it when a group of grown men terrorize a black family by burning a cross on their front lawn? I mean, what could that possibly mean, a burning cross? Everywhere I look on the web, and in the newspapers, everyone I find who is involved in these hate groups is a white, conservative Christian, and they all believe in essentially the same things--hatred of Jews and homosexuals, and other races and religions. Definitely, all Christians do not belong to these groups--it is a very small minority, and most Christians are really nice people. But all the people who belong to these groups are Christians!! It really makes me wonder what on earth is going on. The militia groups and the other hate groups are gaining in American society. There are now militia groups in all fifty states. Definitely a negative trend, and one that I am really afraid of. How can they afford helicopters, anyway? This is all just mind-boggling to me, and I would like to stay and talk about it because I do not understand why this is happening. But unfortunately I need to leave now and go spend the afternoon with my daughter, outside in the beautiful sunshine. I am happy to see her, but I was having fun here. Have a peaceful time, Nancy!! Christine
