Hmmmm . . . this is certainly a change of subject, Duncan. You simply were not here when I owned one Mercedes after the other. I do not like modern cars, because there is too much cheapo plastic on the bumpers and I do not believe some of them are constructed very well. I am very aware that Mercedes cars are extremely safe, however.

Can you tell me why the Volvo company will not be around in ten years? I know that Daimler Benz has adapted quickly to the anticipated demand for smaller and less expensive Mercedes, particularly for city use and to attract younger, less affluent buyers, but I believe they take a risk when they do that, similar to the one American Express takes by letting almost anyone have a card. More business, but the people who spend a lot of money, and are concerned with status and exclusivity, drop out.
