Concerning our thread and the posts found within... I spent about 2 years on a private server investment group of about 30 people. As with here, there were frequent posters and those who just lurked. Every once and awhile the coordinators would threaten to kick off people who weren't contributing, or remind people to stick to investment chatter. We then got into a huge discussion about freedom of expression, friendship, etc. As for myself, I found many folks there had very large egos and got pissed off easily if you made comments that challenged their statements. I pissed people off because some didn't like my passionate posts. I love passion...otherwise, why live? (Now that I've found oil, however, my passionate life is even more intense; to have oil, sex, and love in one lifetime is indeed a blessed thing). Anyway, I've moved over here due to my need for folks to talk to who have similar interests and take the subject of energy investments seriously. So Strictly:Drilling provides not only the numbers I need to make the proper investment decisions, but also the moral support to carry on. I would have done some stupid things that past 3 months if it hadn't been for Baird, PK, LT, Big Dog, and Ron. We are social animals and need community. It is difficult to ask others not to contribute unless they have some numbers to offer because we are more than a analyst club here. I was flamed in my previous group because I suggested we were more of a family than a server connection (we had all met personally twice so there was more to it than electrons). I will not be so bold as to suggest we are a family here, but I would hazard a guess that many of us spend more time here and dealing with our investments (connected or thinking-wise) than we do with many other things in our lives. So about that party... Diamond H
